Alex Gruetzmacher Death – Alex Gruetzmacher, a resident of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and a 7th grader at South Park Middle School has tragically passed away. He was 12 years old. He was announced dead through a publication in a fundraising page that read It’s with such sadness and tragedy that I share the news of a young boy, only 12 years old, who took his own life. His name was Alex Gruetzmacher. He passed away on December 16th.”
Alex Gruetzmacher took his own life on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, according to the statement in the GoFundMe page. The fundraising page organized to raise $25,000 has raised the sum of $20,743 at the time of this report. A family member also confirmed the tragic news in a social media post that read “My niece’s step son, Alex. He was very special and cared for his family and friends. Unfortunately bullying, peer pressure and special needs were too much for him to handle. Please help along with me to help his family.”
The family hope to put and end to bullying and raise awareness to suicide prevention by sharing Alex story. “I share this because witnessing the grace of god and the power of community, we can help put a stop to bullying and raise more awareness to suicide prevention. We can’t let this keep happening in our schools or in our community.” The page read.
At Oshkosh, Wisconsin’s South Park Middle School, Alex Gruetzmacher was a seventh grader. Because of his autism, he was different from his classmates, which made school extremely difficult for him. On the other hand, Alex overcame adversity. His hobbies were playing video games with friends, baking cookies, playing board games, drawing and sketching, painting, and most importantly, spending time with his four siblings, Aspen, Hudson, Ava, and Jade. He also excelled academically. Out of five, he was the eldest.
