Amy Steckler co-produced wrote, and edited Ken Burns’ early films: “Brooklyn Bridge” (Oscar-nominated), “The Shakers: Hands to Work, Hearts to God” and “Huey Long.” She also served as an editorial advisor to Civil War. Stechler is President of Daylight Films.

In 1981, Amy made a documentary named Brooklyn Bridge located in New York City and wrote herself. After that in 1984, the documentary called The Shakers: Hands to Work, Hearts to God was written by herself with the name Amy Stechler Burns.
