Munhall Area Prehospital Services is with heavy hearts as we share the sad news of the unexpected passing of Paramedic Brad Catto, which occurred on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. In his year and a half at MAPS, Catto’s impact was immeasurable, leaving a lasting mark on countless patients and colleagues.

Who was Brad Catto?

Brad Catto, a remarkable individual who hailed from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, embarked on a journey of unwavering dedication and service that left an indelible mark on the firefighting and paramedic community. His path in public safety began at a young age when he became a junior volunteer firefighter, and as soon as he turned 18, he pursued this career path with an unyielding passion.

Being the first firefighter in his family, Brad embraced firefighting and paramedicine as more than just a job it was a calling that he carried with utmost dedication. He believed that this profession was about serving a higher purpose, a sentiment that resonated throughout his entire journey.

Brad Catto Obituary and Funeral Service

Born on August 21, 1986, in Pittsburgh, Brad Catto was the beloved son of Robert S. Catto and Patricia Keogh Catto. A graduate of Canon-McMillan High School’s class of 2005, he embarked on a journey that would make a lasting impact on the lives of many. His dedication to public service led him to become a Paramedic/Firefighter in McDonald, PA, where he began his career with Fort Cherry Ambulance Service. Over the years, his commitment expanded to Munhall and Monroeville Fire Service, Murrell’s Inlet, SC, Fire Rescue, Peter’s Township, and North Strabane Fire Departments.

As a community, we come together to honor Brad’s life and legacy. Friends and loved ones will gather on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at the Coleman-Tyalor Funeral Services, located at 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, PA 15321. A Celebration of Life will commence at 7:30 PM, commemorating a life that touched the hearts of many and left an indelible mark on the world.
