Chris Mortensen Obituary, Death Cause: Chris Mortensen, 42, of Pleasant Grove, was involved in a road rage altercation in Sandy on Wednesday, according to police confirmation on Thursday.

According to authorities, Mortensen was on I-15 when Rodrigo A. Monroy, 32, of Riverton, abruptly cut him off. According to a police affidavit, Monroy acknowledged that he “brake checked” Mortensen after being apprehended.

According to a police booking affidavit, Monroy pulled a gun out from under the driver seat and pointed it at (Mortensen), telling him to back away. (Mortensen) attempted to grab the gun and a short struggle ensued through the open window of (Monroy’s vehicle).
