Ernie Shavers, a former heavyweight, is considered the best one-punch knockout boxer in history. Muhammad Ali was a razor icon as a teenager. He decided to follow in Ali’s footsteps and pursue a career in boxing. He won the AAU Heavyweight Amateur Boxing Championship in 1969, and in November of that year, he turned pro. Before facing former WBA world heavyweight champion Jimmy Ellis in 1973, he had 43 knockouts, 18 of which came in the first round for an incredible 44-2 record. The previous champion was defeated by Razor after one round.

Later, in the first round, Ernie defeated another former champion, Ken Norton. The Razor lost to Muhammad Ali and Ernie Razor in his two-time world title-winning effort. He left the ring in the early 1980s and made a comeback in 1995 at the age of 50.
He won 68 fights by knockout, including 23 in the opening round. His career knockout percentage is 76.4%.
