Emily Sotelo Obituary, Death Cause: Sotero reportedly stopped by the Lafayette Square campground in Franconia on Sunday morning to hike. Sotelo, 19, saw her mother for the last time around 5 a.m. Sunday, when she dropped her off on a trail in Franconia that leads to Mount Lafayette, Haystack, and Flume.
The girl, originally from Massachusetts, will reach her goal, but at some point, she will succumb to subzero temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Later that day, a family member notified the New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game after failing to return from her planned path.
