The collision took place at approximately 5:30 o’clock in the morning, according to the local time zone. The spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey stated that the incident occurred on Bruce Reynolds Boulevard, in close proximity to the George Washington Bridge, as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police car was turning onto Lemoine Avenue. She added that the incident occurred while the police car was attempting to turn onto Lemoine Avenue.
What caused the accident?
The police believe that the motorcycle that was involved in the accident ran a red light, which resulted in a collision with the car that the officer was driving at the time. This is according to a statement that was made by Lenis Valens, a spokesperson for the Port Authority Police Department.
The identity of the person who was riding the motorcycle has not been made public by the authorities at this time. It was found that the officer’s condition was not life-threatening when he was evaluated at the hospital where he was brought for treatment of his injuries.
Shortly after the incident was first reported, the Bergen County Fatal Accident Investigation Unit arrived at the scene to begin their investigation.
