Franco Gatti Obituary, Death Cause: Franco Gatti, the historic voice (but also keyboards and guitar) of Ricchi e Poveri has sadly passed away. The singer died at the age of 80 in Genoa. The news of Franco Gatti’s death was announced on October 18, 2022. The Italian singer and musician were born on 4 October 1942 in Genova. He left Ricchi E Poveri in 2016. Returned to Ricchi E Poveri in 2020 – 2022. Franco’s cause of death has not been made public at this time.
Franco Gatti Cause of Death
Among the protagonists of the band since its formation in the 60s, Franco has supported Angela Brambati and Angelo Sotgiù for almost 50 years, who today keep the Ricchi e Poveri alive as a duo. He decided to leave the group when his life was hit by the grave mourning of the loss of his 22-year-old son, found dead in Genoa on the night of February 13, 2013. The exit was made official in 2016.

In 2020 he returned to sing with the Ricchi e Poveri, in their original formation (it was a quartet with Marina Occhiena), in the historic reunion at the 70th Sanremo Festival. The pandemic has stopped the band from doing some special concerts that were scheduled to follow the rediscovered quartet’s debut in Sanremo. Only Angela Brambati and Angelo Sotgiu had performed on stage as Ricchi e Poveri in the previous two years.
