George Booth Obituary- According to his daughter Sarah Booth, George Booth, one of The New Yorker’s real pioneers, passed away at the age of 96. Less than a week had elapsed since the passing of Mr. Booth’s wife, Dione.
Booth is one of the few New Yorker cartoonists whose work may be regarded to be most similar to the creator (Charles Addams and Steinberg are among the others). Meeting Booth was similar to meeting a figure from his cartoon universe.
