George Rongos Obituary

George Rongos, Founder of George’s International Market, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2022, in his home with his loving wife and family by his side.

Rongos immigrated to the United States from Greece in 1954. He worked at the now-closed Slater Steel for over 30 years before retiring and eventually opening George’s international market.

Rongos passed the store along to his two sons when they purchased the company in 1997.

The grocery store is located along the intersection of Broadway and Taylor Street.
