Hugh McKean Obituary, Death Cause: The Larimer County Coroner’s Office reports that Colorado House Minority Leader Hugh McKean, 55, died abruptly of a heart attack on Sunday morning at his residence.
In 2009, McKean won a seat on the Loveland City Council. Beginning in 2016, he was elected to represent Colorado House District 51. In 2020, he won a seat in the Colorado House Republican Caucus.
In a statement released early on Sunday, Deputy Chief of Staff Roger Hudson said that Hugh was “fervently passionate about two things in his extraordinary life: serving the great state of Colorado and spending time with his family, whom he adored — Aiden McKean, 21, Hanna McKean, 23, and his dearest partner and friend Amy Parks.”
