On the night of August 24, 2023, a domestic argument between Jaylan Sarah Hasty and her boyfriend escalated into a shooting at the Heron Lake Apartments in the 1300 block of North Brickyard Road event.
The Columbia-Richland Fire Department was initially called to the scene after being alerted to the leak, according to officials. When firefighters entered the apartment, they found Jaylan Sarah Hastie and her boyfriend with gunshot wounds.
