Joseph Edwards Car Accident: NC Central Wilkes MS Teacher Killed In Laurel Springs Crash Involving Deer. 30-year-old Joseph Edwards, of Sparta, North Carolina, has been identified as the deceased victim in a Tuesday morning crash that involved two vehicles and a deer in Alleghany County.
According to accounts, about 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Edwards was driving a Ford Ranger near NC-88 in Laurel Springs when a Ford F-150 pickup truck that had hit a deer on the road lost control and collided with Edwards’ car.
At the scene, blunt force trauma injuries were diagnosed as Edwards’ cause of death.
Edwards was a 7th-grade teacher at Central Wilkes Middle School.
