Kenneth Petty Death – The Homicide Unit of the Prince George’s County Police Department is currently investigating a domestic-related murder-suicide incident that occurred on Sunday. The victims were identified as 2-year-old Sterling Glover Petty of Frederick, Maryland, and 38-year-old Kenneth Petty of Suitland.

According to reports, Sterling was shot and killed by his father. After shooting his son, Petty turns the gun and shoots himself. They both died from gunshot injuries.

At around 1:00 pm on December 10, 2023, police responded to a welfare check in the Largo area, specifically the 1200 block of Mercantile Lane. During the check, officers discovered both the victim and the suspect inside a car, each with gunshot wounds. The initial investigation indicated that Petty fatally shot his son before taking his own life.
