Lesley Elliott Obituary, Death Cause: Dunedin domestic violence campaigner and the founder of the Sophie Elliott Foundation died on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at age 76.
Her cause of death was not disclosed.
Since her daughter Sophie Elliott, a student 22 years old, was fatally murdered by her ex-boyfriend in 2008, Elliot had been a passionate proponent of abuse awareness.
Elliott founded the organization to spread awareness of the warning signs of domestic violence after her daughter passed away.
She spoke at community gatherings and schools all throughout New Zealand.
