Mike Schank, a Milwaukee guitarist who appeared in the 1999 documentary ‘American Movie,’ has died at the age of 53.
Mike Schank was an American actor and musician. He was close friends with independent filmmaker Mark Borchardt and helped Borchardt make the 1997 short horror film Coven. He appeared with Borchardt in the 1999 documentary film American Movie, for which Schank also provided music.

Mike Schank Career
Mike Schank started learning to play guitar when he was six years old. Schank is best known for his role in the American film, a 1999 documentary about making the horror short Coven. Schank is portrayed in the documentary as the childhood partner of Coven director and independent filmmaker Mark Borchardt. He starred in and helped produce Coven; he was also shown playing guitar, including blindfolded.

Mike Schank was 53. Jackie Bogenberger said Schank had been battling cancer in recent months and died on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
