One Person Killed in Shooting Incidence at the Bel Air Parking Garage

Police from Bel Air, Maryland, were called to the top level of the Bel Air Parking Garage (16 S. Hickory Avenue) on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 8:53 a.m. for a person who may be having a mental health crisis. A dispatcher with the Bel Air Police Department made the observations while watching parking garage security cameras and quickly sent officers to the scene. The person jumped from the rooftop parking area when officers tried to get their attention after they arrived within minutes.

Paramedics from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company pronounced the victim, a male resident of Bel Air, age 47, dead at the site. Investigations into the victim’s death are being done as suicides. At this time, no additional details are being made public.
