At her home in Star City, Shirley Ann Parker, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Shirley was born on May 5, 1946, to the late Homer B. and Shirley Culpepper Weatherford in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to shopping, Mrs. Parker cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She belonged to the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired office manager.

Her devoted husband of 49 years, George Parker, survives, as do two sons, Steve Ballard and wife Christy of Star City, and Scott Parker and wife Kimberly of Redfield; one daughter, Rhonda Light and husband Steve of Star City; one sister, Susan Ashcraft of Star City; six grandchildren, Mandi, Justin, Taylor, Logan, Gavin, and Aubrey; three great-grandchildren, Ryler, Madisyn, and Austin Kate; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other
A private family service will be held, and burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Steve Ballard, Scott Parker, Randall Shell, Taylor Light, Logan Ballard, Gavin Parker, Mandi Shell, and Aubrey Parker serve as pallbearers. There won’t be any official visits.
