Uma Devi Pemmaraju (March 31, 1958 – August 8, 2022) was an Indian-American journalist and television anchor. At the 1996 premiere, she was one of the original hosts for the Fox News cable network.

Born in India and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Pemmaraju is the host/anchor of “US News HQ w/Uma Pemmaraju” on Fox News in New York. She also reports for Bloomberg News.

Pemmaraju’s early television career began as a producer and reporter for KENS-TV and the San Antonio Express-News newspaper in her home state of Texas while maintaining a full-time job at Trinity University. She also serves as editor of the university newspaper.

When the network launched in October 1996, Pemmaraju was part of the original Fox News team. She hosts many other news shows on the network and hosts many specials. As part of an exchange program with Trinity, she also attended a year of international relations studies at American University.
